This couldn’t be possible without Keilem Ng -major supporter, amazing coaches, Mira Rai , Bhim Gurung and Prativa Shrestha, and the team behind the scene!

Exchange and Empower 2021 has been successful in providing our three athletes, Nitu Tamang, Indrakala Nembang Limbu and Rachana Rana Magar with Trekking Guide License amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The certification was given by Nepal Mountain Academy.

Asia Trail Girls have created their own Everesting format. Between 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟏𝟐𝐭𝐡 we are asking you to either do it 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐎 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝟐 𝐨𝐫 𝟑 to collectively climb 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟒,𝟒𝟐𝟒𝐦 𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟖𝟖𝟒𝐦. Anita Rai, one of our Athletes from Mira Rai Initiative- Exchange and Empower 2021 has completed the 175 KM Kathmandu Valley Rim in just 36 hours and 14 minutes becoming the fastest woman to finish it. Huge congratulations to her for this extraordinary achievement.

Now, the first Manjushree Trail Race (Kathmandu Valley Rim) has been marked as completed. This trail was dreamt about by Lizzy Hawker. We are also extremely grateful to Mira Rai, Bhim Gurung, Suman Kulung, Umesh Rai, Humi Budha Magar, Prativa Shrestha and our Exchange and Empower Athletes of 2021- Indrakala Nembang, Rachana Rana Magar and Nitu Tamang for cheering and supporting her throughout the journey.

Special thanks to Jimi Oostrum for this amazing opportunity. We would also like to congratulate all other runners for conquering the trail.

The WFR course is designed to provide trail runners with the tools to make critical medical and evacuation decisions in remote locations.



The WFR included lectures and demonstrations combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients were allowed to integrate learning. Our six athletes of Exchange and Empower 2021 are all certified wilderness first aid responders!
